AICP, Awards Show Package

The AICP show is an ongoing archival project honoring and recognizing the cultural and artistic significance of American commercial work. For the 2019 show, we created a timeless and flexible motion design system for opening titles, all 23 award category intro sequences and end credits.

The title sequence references the shapes in the AICP logotype, and is designed in the year’s visual theme, Mondrian, as a nod to the modernist artistic traditions of MoMA, the home of the AICP show and archives.

Each of the 23 award category titles has unique motion design and music that abstractly interprets the disciplines in the show and create a visual narrative arc for the audience over the course of the night.

Along with the show title package, Stink Studios applied the design language to various touchpoints throughout the show, including the end papers of the accompanying show program book.
